Job Description: Face-to-Face Counsellor
Helplink Mental Health are seeking to recruit Face to Face Counsellor in our Galway Office, The Plaza Headford Road.
Helplink Mental Health, a mental health charity that provides Counselling, Information Provision and Education services locally, (in Galway and Castlebar) nationally and internationally (Online), have an exciting opportunity for counsellors to join our expanding counselling team in Galway.
We have contractor (i.e. self-employed) opportunities available in our growing COUNSELLING service for General Counsellors, providing counselling/therapy services to adults.
Responsibilities and Duties
– Provide counselling services to a range of adult clients (and couples, if possible)
– Follow Helplink’s protocols and policies.
– Ensure complete client confidentiality is followed at all times, in line with Helplink policies.
– Maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
Requirements
- A recognised qualification at minimum level 8 QQI in Counselling or Psychotherapy; or a
level 9 QQI in Counselling or Clinical Psychology (Level 7 qualifications will be considered if they have completed a minimum 2 years client work post qualification) - Accredited or pre-accredited with a recognised, established accreditation body (e.g.PSI, APCP, IACP, NAPCP, IAHIP, ICP)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to empathize with clients
- Patience and a calm manner
- Ability to relate to a wide range of people
- Ability to provide counselling/therapy services that are evidenced based and solution focused
Desirable
- Experience/Training in Couples Counselling
- Experience/Training in Addiction Counselling
Pay Rates
€32.50 per hour for a standard individual counselling appointment
€20 per hour for a individual discounted counselling appointment
€40 per hour for a couples counselling appointment
