At Helplink Mental Health, we understand the unique challenges that young people face today. Our Youth Counselling services are designed to support young individuals in navigating their emotional and mental health, available both face-to-face in Galway (City) and Mayo (Castlebar), as well as online nationwide and internationally. Our services are accessible 7 days a week, ensuring that help is available when it’s needed most.

The Goal of Our Youth Counselling Services

The primary goal of Helplink’s Youth Counselling service is to provide a safe and supportive environment where young people can express their thoughts and feelings. Our experienced therapists work with young individuals to help them understand and manage their emotions, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. We aim to empower young people to lead healthier, happier lives by addressing the issues they face.

The Objective of Our Sessions

Our objective is to help young individuals achieve a better understanding of themselves and their experiences. The aim of our sessions is to restore healthy functioning and promote positive development. We work collaboratively with young people to address their concerns and help them move forward in their lives.

Our Counselling Options

We provide two convenient options for Youth Counselling:

  • Face-to-Face Appointments in Galway and Mayo: Our in-person sessions are conducted at our Galway (City) and Mayo (Castlebar) offices, providing a comfortable and private environment for young individuals.
  • Online Video Counselling Nationwide and Internationally: Our secure online video counselling service allows young people to receive support from the comfort of their own homes, no matter where they are located.

Our Youth Counselling services cover a wide range of issues, including:

  • Anxiety and Stress: Helping young individuals manage anxiety and stress with effective coping strategies.
  • Depression: Providing support and guidance to those experiencing feelings of sadness or hopelessness.
  • Bullying and Cyberbullying: Addressing the impact of bullying and helping young people develop resilience.
  • Self-Esteem and Confidence: Promoting healthy self-esteem and confidence in young individuals.
  • Behavioural Issues: Working with young people to understand and manage behavioural problems.
  • Family and Relationship Issues: Providing support for young individuals dealing with family or relationship challenges.
  • Academic Pressure: Helping young people manage the stress and pressure associated with academic demands.

Qualified and Professional Counsellors

Helplink’s professional counsellors are fully qualified, insured, and Garda vetted. Our services are available at times to suit you:

  • Monday to Friday: 9 am to 9 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 12 pm to 6 pm

(Closed on Bank Holidays and Christmas/New Year’s Eve)

Please Note: If you need to cancel or reschedule a booked appointment, please do so at least 48 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee.
