In Helplink we believe in providing accessible counselling/talk therapy services – that is why our services are available 7 days a week and out-of-hours in person (face-to-face) in our offices in Galway City and online nationwide and beyond.
We provide general counselling, couples counselling, bereavement counselling and addition counselling nationwide and internationally through our secure Online Counselling service.
In Galway City we provide these Face-to-face Counselling services:

Our Counsellors can an support you if you are dealing with: Feeling unhappy, feeling low, being constantly worried, not sleeping, feeling stressed out and/or anxious, behaviour problems, anger issues, feeling sad, difficulty dealing with a death, being bullied/cyber bullied, feeling confused, drinking too much, addiction problems, problems with eating, not feeling good about yourself, lacking in confidence.
Helplink’s professional, qualified, insured and Garda vetted counsellors are there at times to suit you, 7 days a week & out-of-hours:
- 9 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday
- 12 to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday
(Closed on Bank Holidays and Christmas/New Year’s Eve).

Low Cost Appointment Fee: as a non-profit organisation we try to keep the fees for appointments as low as possible. For employed people the cost for a general counselling appointment is €50 or €45 with a GP referral (letter or email). Please ask about the fees for the other types of counselling appointments we offer, as these fees vary.
Discounted Fees: for general, addiction and bereavement counselling appointments, full-time (third level) Students (part-time counselling students), Part-time Workers (working less then 20 hours a week), Single Parents or Unemployed persons in receipt of a social protection payments (e.g. Jobseeker’s Benefit/Allowance, Disability Benefit etc.) are charged €30; you must provide evidence of your status to avail of this fee. Other specialised counselling/therapeutic services fees may vary.
NOTE: For young people (under the age of 18), the appointment price is determined by which category their parents and/or guardians fall into.
NB: If you want to cancel or postpone a booked appointment you must do so 48 hours in advance or a cancellation fee may apply.
