Face-to-Face Counselling Services

For over five years we have been providing face-to-face counseling services in Galway City, as well as through our national online counselling service; these services are available at low costs, 7 days a week and evenings.

This year we aim to expand our face-to-face counselling services to two new Counties – Mayo (Castlebar) and Roscommon (Roscommon Town).

Helplink’s professional, qualified,  insured and Garda vetted counsellors are there at times to suit you, 7 days a week:

  • 9 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday
  • 12 to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday
  • (Closed on Bank Holidays and Christmas/New Year’s Eve).


Counselling FEES – general, addiction and bereavement counselling:

Low Cost Appointment Fee: as a non-profit organisation we try to keep the fees for appointments as low as possible. For employed people the cost for an  appointment is 50. €45 with a GP referral (letter or email). Please ask about the fees for the other types of counselling appointments we offer, as these fees vary.

Discounted Fees: full-time, Post Secondary students. Part-time counselling students. Persons working less then 20 hours a week or unemployed persons in receipt of a social protection payments (e.g. Jobseeker’s Benefit/Allowance, Disability Benefit, Illness Benefit). Appointments are discounted to 30 for an appointment. You must provide evidence of your status to avail of this fee. 

NOTE: For young people (under the age of 18), the appointment price is determined by which category their parents and/or guardians fall into.

We can an support you if you are dealing with: feeling unhappy, feeling low, being constantly worried, not sleeping, feeling stressed out and/or anxious, behaviour problems, anger issues, feeling sad, difficulty dealing with a death, being bullied/cyber bullied, feeling confused, drinking too much, addiction problems, problems with eating, not feeling good about yourself, lacking in confidence…

NB: We do not provide a crisis service, people seriously contemplating suicide or in need of immediate help should go to their local A&E; Dial 999 for assistance.

Please further note if you want to cancel or postpone your appointment you must do so 48 hours in advance or a cancellation fee may apply.
